“Oh, that my grief were fully weighed and my calamity weighed with it on the scales! For then it would be heavier than the sand of the sea”

“Is this how you are feeling?”

Are you struggling to make sense of things that are happening in your life?
Do you feel alone, abandoned, afraid, anxious, depressed, powerless to change things?
Are you feeling overwhelmed with
intense emotions and unsure what to do about this or who to talk to?
Is your mind constantly consumed by distressing or
confusing thoughts that interfere with your ability to make decisions?
This may be where you are right now but it doesn’t have to be the end of your story. There is always hope!

Come and talk to someone who will listen without judgement , give you time to tell your story and help you to gently explore your emotions even when you feel you can’t find the words to express them.
I am a qualified Counsellor and Psychotherapist and would love the opportunity to work with you, to help you feel better about whatever it is that’s troubling you

Profile

Hello, I’m Susanna. Let me tell you a little bit about myself.

My heart has always been about coming alongside people to gently encourage and support them to be the best they can be, whatever their circumstances.

Throughout my varied career as a nurse, midwife, college lecturer and foster carer I have been able to follow my heart and walk with individuals in this way. Hardly surprising then that I ventured into the counselling world in 2006 to commence a change in career that would allow me the privilege of walking humbly alongside people through some of their darkest moments and the joy of seeing them emerge from their place of suffering to find acceptance, emotional healing and a sense of wholeness.

our story

How do I work?

I am a relational Integrative therapist which means that I draw on several different therapeutic theories to inform my practice. The relational aspect of our work together means that I will be noticing any recurring themes, patterns of behaviour, thought processes or emotions and we will explore these together gently so that you can gain understanding of how your ‘past’ has shaped your ‘present’. This gives opportunity to see your situation in a different light and gain new perspectives which will empower you in your future. I use a person centred approach to help create a safe, empathic and non-judgemental environment where clients feel free to explore difficult thoughts and feelings in order to make sense of them and move forward in a positive way.

My skills and experience count for nothing unless we can develop a real therapeutic relationship of trust. This is fundamental to our work together.
